Discover the presentation of the winegrower
Jean GAUTHIER, father of Denis GAUTHIER, current CEO of the distillery, founded the distillery in 1968. With this tradition in mind, we offer you a true distiller’s know-how.
Thanks to its privileged location in the heart of the Rhone Valley, the JEAN GAUTHIER distillery has become, over the last thirty years, a major player in the production of fruit brandies and more particularly in williams pear brandies.
The elaboration of an eau de vie is: the reception of the fruits, the control of the maturity, the crushing, the fermentation, the distillation, the storage, the assembly and the ageing, the setting to the degree, the filtration and the bottling.
Each stage of the process is subject to rigorous control and traceability of the entire chain. With a dynamic team of 10 permanent employees, reinforced during the season, and highly efficient equipment, the JEAN GAUTHIER distillery distils 500,000 litres of A.P. brandies of pear, cherry, plum, raspberry, apricot, etc. every year. But also liqueurs, aperitifs, creams…
With a novelty: the Chestnut Whisky liqueur. In addition to the distillery, the company includes a museum: On 1400 m2 of exhibition space, magnificent copper appliances from the four corners of France, as well as a collection of materials, utensils and other tools constitute in 30 pictures the memory of a part of our rural heritage.
While walking through the museum, visitors discover the JEAN GAUTHIER DISTILLERY: the distillation workshop, the bottling line, one of our ageing cellars and the entire production process thanks to a slide show of digital images. At the end of the visit, a free tasting of our products is offered.
